Summerland Wedding | August 3, 2013

August long weekend in the Okanagan can get a little crazy, so it was nice to have Kayla & Mark’s special celebration just outside of Kelowna to look forward to. This truly romantic and classy event was held at a private residence in Summerland which boasted that stunning panoramic lake view backdrop that Okanagan weddings are known for.

As we always try to do with our clients, we tailored their day to fit their personalities. Deep purples in shades from eggplant and plum was the colour palette, and by personal request from the bride, we added a lot of sparkle with crystal chandeliers hung throughout the dinner area, vase adornments, crystal stones placed about and breathtaking crystal curtains as the backdrop for the head table. With the stunning lake view, the rich shades of purple and all that sparkle this wedding was befitting royalty.

The couple opted for the ever-delicious Cabana Catering for their dinner, and Whisk Cakes created a beautiful two-toned cake to show Mark and Kayla’s families coming together as one with their union. After dinner a decadent candy buffet was put out for all to enjoy as they danced well into the evening.

One of my favourite parts of the day were the surprise acts the happy couple had planned for each other. Immediately following the ceremony, Mark had arranged for a plane to fly by with a “just married” banner trailing behind it. During the reception, Kayla had planned to entertain guest and her new husband with a surprise fire dancer. The perfect finishing touches on a perfect day for this wonderful couple.

Hope You Enjoy!!!
